Raumagent AlphaRaumagent Alpha live @ Pulp Mansion (Berlin) 07-oct-2006 (October 7, 2006)

Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)

So here are three tracks from Raumagent Alpha's gig at Pulp Mansion (Berlin), OCT-07-2006. This is a live to 2track recording directly from the mixer, lacking the club ambience and all the yelling from the audience. However, due to ha.te's gorgeous mp3 recorder built-in-mic-trick, we got a little ambience at the end of the last track. Since sense of time is quite different during club events the tracks have been edited slightly, but don't be afraid: there're still lots of bloopers left for your amusement ;)

The recording has been uploaded for documentation purpose only and neither home entertainment nor traktor djing use is intended - again, a true mdz release ;)

Gear used: Akai MPC 2000, Jomox XBase-09, Novation Bassstation Rack with noise-feed from a portable radio, Roland MC-202, bent Roland TR-626 and selfmade 'robot voice' Ringmod, Commodore 64 running Prophet 64 Monosynth & Bassline, a few crappy FX.

Some notes on the tracks:

1) Flatter:

This stomper is starting with bent 626 bleep solo (as transition from the previous track) - then introducing Bassstation & a Commodore 64 TRIAD Midislave synth line (sampled into MPC). Beatsamples are from Prophet 64 Drummer, followed by another wavetable arp from midislave. Radio noise has been added to Bassstation's filter in producing some noize-git flair.

My MC-202 f*cked up during this track, so I had to do something.. A Prophet 64 Monosynth line is on repeat while I fixing 202 on the fly. Finally: The MC-202 is running the melancholic hook line.

2) Microdisco:

This is a 130bpm club-tempo halftime, still suitable for dancing but drawing away the usual uptempo techno mood. The groove samples derive from C=64 "Microdisco" and wavetables come from TRIAD Midislave, again. The outro is fading into a track called 'Zirp' which is not included in this release cause the recording was terrible ;(

3) Zugabe:

I guess there's no need to tell you: This one is rather a Jam session featuring the Prophet 64 Bassline. The pad-like sounds are coming out from the Bassstation, the distorted cowbell percussions from my bent 626.
This has been the very last track of the gig, ending in a deep slowdown outro and the yelling mentioned above.

OK, that's it for now. Hope you'll enjoy the tracks!
