Combining electronic music with live improvisation, Revolution Void is best described as electronic breakbeat jazz.
Thread Soul is the 2006 follow-up release to 2004's Increase the Dosage. Whereas Increase the Dosage was packed with instrumentation and featured over 10 guest performers, including Matthew Garrison (Herbie Hancock), Seamus Blake (Mingus Big Band) and Michael Shrieve (Santana), Thread Soul contains sparser instrumentation and more focus on groove development and ambient soundscapes. Nevertheless, Thread Soul still contains its fair share of jazz improvisation, thanks to guest performances by Lucas Pickford (Brian Blade) and Cochemea Gastelum (Fred Wesley, Robert Walter's 20th Congress).
The end result is an amalgamation of electronic breaks, instrumental hiphop and ambient grooves with jazz improvisation and embellishment.
