Subject: Romance takes the road to modernism
Unlike the earlier Road to Romance films which show faded but nostalgic family vacations, this trip to Coral Gables (a modernist is a colorful lark of unconventional relationships: a stud frolicks with two young women on the beach, while an older couple travel with a young woman. They are indescriminately refered to as "Vacationists".

Coral Gables is one of the first planned communities built in a Mediterranean theme around 3 golf courses and a marina. Its Venetian Pool shown in the film as a decorative public bath made from a rock quary was originally a casino where the likes of Esther Williams and Johnny Weismuller came to swim. The gorgeous modern architecture of the University of Miami belongs squarely in Jam Handy's populux films. At the beach with palm trees is vibrant, and a trip to a "Parrot Jungle" is fodder for Handy's staged hokeyness. Excellent!

Subject: Watch people "Getting the bird!"
Another very nice Roads to Romance spot, this time focusing on Coral Gables, it;s many beaches one can frolic in, and the many wonders of driving your chevrolet can bring you. Watch for the moment when the threesome shown here (There's a road to romance for ya, hubba hubba) go to "Parrot Jungle" where the narrator says that people can "get the bird." JOY! Highly reccomended!
