It's a treat to see Gilmore (the narrator) on camera as he's known more for his voice these days doing movie trailers in the 50s, though he also appeared on Dragnet.
You have to feel a little sorry for Lyle Talbot. He went from a somewhat respectable career in serials and B movies to things like Plan Nine From Outer Space and industrials like this one.
Fairbanks is using the Capitol Hi-Q library in most of this film, opening with a couple of Bill Loose Documentary cues. The piece of music at 15:02 when Talbot and the other guy are walking down the street is C-15 Light Activity by Loose. At 22:05 we hear Loose's C-8 Domestic Suburban. The cue at 1:14 is EM-103A Documentary Underscore by Phil Green, originally an EMI Photoplay cue. There's one piece of music from Jack Shaindlin's Langlois Filmusic libary as well.

American Propaganda. This is the typical brainwashing that took place all throughout the post war years. trust your banker he's doing it all for you! Obvious scam with the financial tycoons reaping in the wealth while Mom and Pop labored away their lives. I can't wait to find the flick that convinces the ignorant how wonderful the FED was...saving us from that dirty old depression! Such outright lies and fraud....God Bless America !

The guy who plays Leonard Mercer in this film also plays police chief Green in ADT: When Seconds Count.
Wow, I had no idea that those mortgage bankers were just in it for the good of the community!

Average film about Mortgage brokers doesnt really pick up until 1/4 of the way through, until we meet George Chandler, Stock Broker In Your Community, who seems to be EveryMan central. Sounding a lot like Ronald Reagan, Chandler knows everyone, approves everyone's loan, and just oozes slime.
