Nothing But Flat Plains - For Tex Ritter Fans Only
Yes, there's enough action - gun play, fist fights, mob confrontations, riding there and back. love affair - to keep the action moving in the usual sort of way. On the other side Tex Ritter is no great actor - emotional range from A to B, and sings a few too many forgettable songs. He is burdened with two useless partners - what were the people who conceived this trio thinking?. The two small cowardly, ineffective, talk-to-much sidekicks, are played for comedy - if you can call it that - by tiny, mustachioed "Snub" Pollard and rotund, irritatingly wheezy voiced Horace Murphy, a sort of silly Andy Devine sound alike. This might have been a really good film without the comedy and so much time consuming song breaks. The one good song is sung by the saloon house band "The Beverly Hills Billies." For Tex Ritter fans only.
