Anybody have or heard ... ?
More than 50 years ago I had a 78 rpm disk of Cyril Smith doing two British, musical hall-type novelty numbers — "She Was Poor But She Was Honest" and "How Fights Start in Saloons." (Disk is long lost, just like my youth.)
Has anyone heard these or have them? If anyone has them I'd sure appreciate it if they'd upload them to the IA. Does anyone know anything about his recording career besides the "Anne Bolyn" song? He was a talented, funny man but seems to have been relegated to non-credited roles in British films.

Re "Cyril Smith"
A fun alternative version of "With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm" Rudy Vallee Conn Yankees on Bluebird 7078.Vocal Cyril Smith
"Cyril Smith"
Cyril Smith was a Scottish actor. He was born in 1892 Peterhead Scotland, died 1963 in London. He is probably best remembered as an actor in many British films from the 30's 40's and 50's and as Merlin in the popular 50's British TV series "The Adventures of Sir Lancelot"

Cyril Smith it is!
The previous reviewer is correct. The Rudy Vallee Discography lists this recording (although incorrectly listed as "With HIS Head Tucked Underneath HIS Arm") under Vallee recordings. Cyril Smith is the vocalist.
As stated, this song is Bluebird 7078-B. Vallee is to be heard on the reverse side with Cyril Smith again as vocalist in "The Old Sow Song" 7078-A, both recorded on July 2, 1937.

Re: Not Rudy
Greetings from FixitLand! -- "With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm" (Bluebird B-7078-B, July 2, 1937) is sung by Cyril Smith. On the A side, "The Old Sow Song," Rudy Vallee introduces Smith. Take care, -- J. E. Knox "The Victor Freak"

Not Rudy
I may be wrong but Im 90% certain that the singer is Stanley Holloway - best remembered probably for playing the part of Eliza's father in My Fair lady. (I'm getting married in the morning)
What it's doing under Rudy Vallee I can't imagine.
