The first EP from The Poetry. The Onomatopoeic Man working alongside Brian Saigon Schmidt (BSS aka BSS), The Poetry came into existence in August or July. Separately we became aware that each other made music, and that we had both produced completed albums. We completed a successful DJ set for a trendy party, then we knew we needed to do something more. The Album was the next step. Secretly it was a test to see if we could rely upon each other.
Incidentally, the name 'The Poetry' came after drinking cheap Scottish lager and being too close to someones Frank Zappa autobiography. A random page flick later and boom, there it was. Some other names that were floated included Quadra Spaz, we couldn't decide so the random book flick sealed our fate.
The album came together in a rush at the end, because we were to be the warm-up for Frog Pocket that night, and we wanted to release the album at the same time, and we left it too late. It didn't matter though, the music was good, and the night was shit hot no thanks to us.
The new album is now available for download/thrashing: http://www.archive.org/details/ThePoetry2
