Babs and Simon Step Out (The life of Riley).
Season 1, episode 2.
Original air date: 11 October 1949.
Cast: John Brown (Digby `Digger` O`Dell), Rosemary DeCamp (Peg Riley), Jackie Gleason (Chester A. Riley), Frank Jacquet (Franklin Ferrin- Justice of Peace), Jimmy Lydon (Simon Vanderhopper), Sid Tomack (Jim Gillis) and Gloria Winters (Barbara `Babs` Riley)
Good interpretation for a very bad story. It is always bad at the end.

Actually, my rating is 3.5/5, not 4/5
Typical episode of the early television flop, "The Life of Riley", with a badly miscast Jackie Gleason.
This short-lived series wasn't very funny, though it does have a quaint 1949 charm to it.
The episode runs 22 minutes. Normally, a 30-minute show of this era runs 24-26 minutes without commercials. Is this an edited print?
Not great, but hey, moderately interesting.
