This was my ninth STS9 show and a phenomenal one (from my vague recollection nearly 20 years later).
I gave it a re-listen recently - I thought I had always been chasing a Horn...but actually the second song in the encore which is unnamed in the setlist is actually HORN.
Nice surprise.
Only gets 4 stars b/c some chitter chatter on the recording earlier in the show.

This show was on the same day as the downtown Chicago St Patrick's Day parade. Our crew had been partying all day so was a little tired walking into this one. As others have posted there was so much energy in the room no problem at all with moving the feet once the music got started. We got gifted a foundation room box and I remember looking down and watching everyone going crazy and throwing down. Such an epic show the Circus opener was a great first impression of the band. The tempo and energy level just continues all the way through the show. The drummer was really impressive just non stop all night. I really like Tap-In, Kamuy, Twelve, Moonscoket, and Baraka.

and my experience was identical to the other reviewers. just a ton of energy in the hob that night. i've seen them many more times in that room since, and nothing has quite touched that night still.
it was a different scene back then, more low-key, and more room to really stretch out and shake a leg. also, the band was still a drum & bass rhythmic juggernaut. all of this lent itself to a peak experience for many in attendance. they definitely don't make them like this anymore.
and yeah, at the time i thought velmer getting up and randomly breakdancing happened every show. little did i know...

this was my first ever soundtribe show, and It was the greatest. not only was I blown away by the triple encore, but Zach the drummer got down on some break-dancing! and all the shows I've seen since then, he hasn't done it again...yet!
keep it up guys!

haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but R&E>moonsockets is SICK! It's got some flock of seagulls teases in the end funk section. The Horn (not improv??) during the encore is pretty ill too
