The Secret Storm
This soap opera aired on CBS from February 1954 – February 1974. The Secret Storm was originally a 15-minute program shown at 4:15pm on CBS after The Brighter Bay. In 1962 The Secret Storm was expanded to 30 minutes and played at 4pm. 5,195 episodes were broadcast during that time in both black and white and color (The Secret Storm was the last of the primetime soaps to convert to color in 1968). The show was set in the fictional town of Woodbridge, New York, and followed the Ames family dramas. A notable casting decision in the late 60s happened when Joan Crawford (over 60 at the time) filled in for her 28-year-old daughter Christina Crawford as Joan Borman Kane. The series was created by Roy Winsor and directed by Gloria Monty.

SS
I always enjoyed SS. The acting, as a whole, was always decent and the scripts were a bit above average. This episode in particular was great! Susan was SUCH a spoiled brat but sympatheic nonetheless. Its too bad that Jada Rowland wasn't playing Amy here as June Carter was just not very good as "Amy". The only thing that almost spoils old soaps was the dreadful orgaqn muisc. This is one of the reasons soaps were not taken seriously as they should've been. Its a shame they could'nt have had REAL instrumentation.

LOVE The Classic Piano & Organ! =)
I am names after both maternal & paternal Grandmas (Frances) who not only both played piano & organ (as I do today) but were both AVID soap opera watchers. I was 'incubating' (born in 1960) during this episode. I LOVE the chording and sounds of the piano & organ from this classic soap-thanks! =)

Hmm
Please, Jeice, don't eat any children.
This is a good program though, mildly campy and a decent drama on it's own levels. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see some good set design from CBS-TV.
