"Her Name Is Ginevra, Not Virginia" is the third EP by lo-fi indie rock band Shorthand Phonetics. It was released on the internet in January of 2006. This EP was exclusively recorded into a webcam mic to a NEC Versa E680 with Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 software sporadically between the band members International Baccalaureatte classes.
It consists of three songs that are...
1. "Real Equivalent of Shampoo (Sugar Maliciously Codes for You)", 2. "Aftermath of Losing Hope, the Concept and the Girl", and 3. "Everybody Knows Every Romance Needs an Astronomy Tower"
The inspiration of the EP title comes from a esotoric fact in the Harry Potter fandom that states Ginny Weasley's real name is Ginevra Weasley and not Virginia Weasley as previously thought. This Harry Potter theme also runs through the third song that is a tribute to www.astronomytower.org, a Harry Potter romance fanfiction site.
