Subject: Who the singer is
The singer is Del Casino. The girl is Jeni Freeland. "Surrender" was recorded 9/30/46. This information comes from a great book called "The Soundies" published by McFarland Books in 1991.

Subject: 'Surrender' to whom?
Anyone know who this really is? Perry Como's voice is much deeper and mellower, as I recall. This guy sounds like a second-tier band singer. The model is quite a dish, though. A pleasant couple minutes diversion overall.

Subject: Filming does not do vocalist justice.
The singer has a good voice, but his stiff staging and angle he is filmed in does not do him justice. Pleasant song.

Subject: (is not sung by Corey Hart)
A poorly set up beach is the set up for this Soundie. The singer for this is pretty bad, showing zero chemistry to the girl he's singing to (which is good, as she appears bored silly being in this film). The song itself is ok, but what was up with the out of place piano solo in the middle?

Not exactly my taste, but a sweet and lovely song. This must be Perry Como, probably in the year 1946.
