Old radio broadcast from the late 1940's or early 1950's captured on a Webster Model 80 wire recorder. These models of wire recorders were manufactured in Chicago around 1947 or 1948. The show was broadcast on WJFL (WJSL?) and "invites you to hear the talents of young professional vocal artists, here in Chicago". Rosemarie Coulder(sp?) was the featured artist with Phyllis Miller accompanying on piano. The program closes with the announcer stating Miss Coulder was "tonight's featured artist on 'Tomorrow's Marquee'". Not quite sure if Tomorrow's Marquee wasn't the name of the show.

Subject: WFJL Chicago
WFJL was a Chicago FM station founded in 1947 as a non-profit station. The station that now holds that frequency is WXRT, the legendary Chicago rock station (93.1). It is very interesting to hear an FM broadcast from the 1940's and from a rare station. I can't help but picture Curly Howard of the 3 Stooges dressed in drag when I hear "The Voice of Spring" being sung, lol.
