An improved version of my single-seg any% run for easy download better viewing.
Just a few weeks ago I made a segmented version of my 0:38, trying to improve every room I could ending with a 0:37. When I attempted to record it my last save was just a minute away from the one that I usually get but luckily I got the ending segment with 0:37 somehow. I knew that run sucked badly and even in the tape I recorded it had a small defect so I gave it another try with another tape. I made a small change to the first save (in my previous 0:37 I saved in the "bubble room" in Norfair, this time I saved in Kraid's lair before facing him) to get everything nicely without too much frustration. About boss battles, the Phantoon battle was plain fast.
This is my first time (and I really hate to say it) that I used the murder beam to get this time. That 0:37 sucked badly, I made this one with just every detail perfectly done so I knew the mark for 0:36 was just close and I really wanted to know if 0:36 could be done or not. My 0:38 is still a solid run, even though it had some risky mistakes and I also didn't use the murder beam to get it. Anyway a new record is a new record :p. Either way you see it, both times (0:36 and 0:37) are still new records, so it just doesn't matter to me now. Definitely worth a check.
