Ven. Tenzin ChonyiUnlocking the Addiction Trap (February 23, 2008)

Addiction is a poor substitute for inner peace. This workshop will teach you ways in which you can use your mind to loosen the hold of addiction. While medication may be necessary where there have been physical changes to the brain or body due to the addiction, meditation is a powerful way to strengthen the mind. Addiction is not just about drugs and alcohol but any habit which causes harm and in which we seem to have no control. Buddha taught that underneath or confusion, the mind is clear and aware. How do we access that state? There are many different forms of meditation and by using them skilfully we can find that inner peace. The workshop will be a combination of discussion and meditation and is suitable for all levels including those entirely new to Buddhism.
