Terrain Instrument WINDRIBBON vibratory and punctuated ruffling happens and is eventually joined by insect collisions, squirrel chattering spills down tree bark transferring onto this 1/2 inch brass ribbon-stretched 200 feet from tree-to-tree. From hear on through- approximately 58 minutes:42 seconds- personal intercession occurs; however, vibrations abound: trees, wind, improvisations using tree branches, insects, particulates and unexpected collisions or wind gustiness. This, a 2nd of several Westar 5 two-channel satellite uplinks was mastered from 1/4 inch tape on 2, 10 inch reels and originated from a NPR Washington DC uplink. This particular potpourri of realtime soundworks were specifically received in two venues. A University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Gallery included these playings as an ambient detail of this show titled "Devices: an exhibition of technological art." Made available for the student VHS Library was Curater Carol Emmon's documentary titled "Duluth Permanent Forest Terrain Instruments."
