Lovely to see this in it's entirety
While I've seen the segment of CL and TEF singing Old Rattler, I've never had the pleasure of watching the segment that precedes including the reading of Edward Guest's poetry. Much appreciated. Would love to catch his previous appearance the year before.

Episode 3.10 (The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show).
Season 3, episode 10.
Original air date: 11 December 1958.
Ernie sings Christmas-themed songs, then welcomes his guest, Charles Laughton.
Cast: Tennessee Ernie Ford and Charles Laughton.
From IMDB.
This episode is shortened at about 22 minutes but this episode worth it indeed. It is funny to see Sir Laughton performing differently than usual.

for something a bit different we have Charles Laughton
Fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed one of my favorite actors completely out of his element. He handled himself with the usual dignity and professionalism that made him such a great screen actor. I'm not sure if he enjoyed himself doing this gig, apparently it was a return visit for him... but he made me laugh once or twice!
Thanks for posting this rarity. I suggest that TCM add this to their next Charles Laughton tribute.
