The DivorcedThe Divorced (April 26, 2008)

Born and bred on sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, The Divorced came to fruition in the "Summer of the Witch," the year of 2004. Screaming his heart out and exploiting his emotions, singer/songwriter John Ryan Gallagher formed the band with long-time friends Matthew Kulik, Juliet Nelson, and Jason Anderson. They would go on to play scores of shows throughout the next two years, including an exceptional performance on WMBR's Pipeline and a spring U.S. tour in '05.Musical contributors drifted in and out of The Divorced until 2006 when the band's lineup reconfigured to form an impressive four-piece unit that would stand the test of time, temptation, and soul. Scott Chasse, who from day one had taken on the daunting task of recording The Divorced debut album The Darkness and The Light, stepped in to play lead guitar as well. Evangelos Orfanos, known internationally for his intricate percussion skills, put down the sticks and picked up the bass while Matthew Kulik continued to be the back and front beat of the band with his one-of-a-kind style which is a key element to the group's dynamic. Kulik and Gallagher have played together since 2000 when they first worked together in the slow-core band Tiger Saw, of which they were original members... (sort of)

The Divorced plan to release their debut album in early '08. In the meantime, they are pillaging cities, sinking ships, and stealing the hearts of many. Playing up and down the East Coast this winter, The Divorced are not to be missed.
