This EP consists of six instrumental tracks comprising of new wave/synthpop/shoegaze/apocalyptic-balearic dream-rave. Ibiza is in flames!!
A track-by-track description:
Waltz I is an orchestration of a guitar solo I recorded, mellotron and strings float past over a thumpy 3/4 electronic beat.
'Endemic' is a crunchy dancefloor friendly, vaguely synthpop, song featuring string synthesizer drones, organ and a guitar solo. It makes me think of Depeche Mode's 90's fare.
'Green Stains' is a hazy Moroder-meets-Madchester (a dark and crumbling Madchester) rhythmic stomp with hazy guitar atmospherics and melodies. Creepy sampled dialog adds to the atmosphere. Here is a promotional video (and unique edit): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhWwIaahT7Q
'Light Coming In' is the EP's rave-up, fast drum machine action combined with shoegazey guitar drones, choirs and an eastern european tinged melodic line create an expansive sound as they race by.
'Where You Are' then brings it back down with a simple arpeggiator flitting through rhythmic harmonies paired with epic beats and guitar melodies.
Finally, the EP ends off with the guitar recording that was orchestrated for the first track- 'Waltz II'. Personally, I think it's the best guitar I've recorded.
