Rights
On December 15, 2003, The Loft gave permission for shows to be hosted; notes updated 8/8/05:
Audience taping is permitted at all Loft shows. When The Loft is
performing at a festival or other event featuring multiple bands, that
particular event's policy may override our customary taping policy.
When The Loft is opening for another artist, that particular artist's
policy may override our customary taping policy. All taping is limited
to audience only. All non-profit distribution (trading, archive.org,
peer-to-peer downloads, etc.) is acceptable.
The enjoyment of the audience in attendance at a concert always takes
precedence over recording efforts. This means that at no time should
tapers ever require other patrons to be quiet, to move, or otherwise
interfere with their enjoyment of the show.
If there is ever any question concerning the permission of taping a
live show, checking with one of the band members prior to showtime
should clear up any misunderstandings.
If you do tape a Loft performance, it would be greatly appreciated if
a copy of the recording be sent to us for archival purposes. Please
email John Burke (burke@lovetheloft.com) or Nick Graham
(archives@lovetheloft.com) for contact info.
