Michael ReevesThe She Beast (1966)

A couple on their honeymoon in Transylvania crash their car into a lake-the same lake where a witch was drowned many years before. The witch takes over the wife's body and it's up to her husband and a descendent of Van Helsing to save her.

Subject: Duff mpeg 2 download - now sorted.

Mpeg2 - the end was missing from my download. The opening credits came back. Is it the post-modernist version?

The mpeg1 is okay. No problems with that.

Thanks for the feedback drworm. I've changed download manager to FlashGet and that seems to have solved the problems with duff downloads.

I thought the film was well worth it. Although I've seen quite a few on the lines of witch curses descendants of village, none have been quite like this. Some very odd but interesting characters - including a gloriously eccentric van Helsing and a vicious hag of a witch - take it out of the ordinary. I prefer this sort of raw "realism" to the often "idealised" horror of Hammer.

1960s horror at its best and it didn't do Ian Ogilvy's career any harm.

I had to gouge my eyes out for watching it.
But you may like it.

Subject: Re: Duff mpeg 2 download

I just downloaded the MPEG2 version and the end's on there. The MPEG2 on the server is the file that all the other versions of the movie come from. It wouldn't make sense for some other version to be fine while the source itself wasn't.
Something went wrong during the download. Either the file cut off early and your player was set on repeat (though you probably would have noticed that) or the download failed at some point and restarted-adding all the new bits it grabbed to the end of the file until it reached 3 Gigs. Though that's kind of weird too. I'd suggest double-checking the settings on your downloader, using an FTP program (if you're not already) for the really large files or checking through the forums to see if anybody else has encountered a similar problem. Things might have gotten squirrlly just because the MPEG2 is so honking big.
But thanks for taking the time to download the movie and then taking the time to download it again to see the end. Hopefully the flick was kind of worth it.
