Rights
The Special Purpose (official recording and trading policy) Audience taping is permitted and encouraged at all shows by The Special Purpose. When The Special Purpose are performing at a festival or other event featuring multiple bands, that particular event's policy may override The Special Purposes regular taping policy. Please respect any rules established by the organizer of that particular event. Audience taping at Special Purpose concerts is authorized for non-commercial purposes only.
Unauthorized sale, duplication and/or distribution is in violation of applicable laws and is strictly forbidden. All performances by The Special Purpose and recordings are the exclusive property of The Special Purpose.
Soundboard patches will not be permitted at most TSP shows. Tapers are responsible for their own equipment. Please respect the hard work being done by the sound engineers and crew and please do not ask to patch in to the board or to borrow equipment. Videotaping and FLASH photography is only permitted with the express consent of The Special Purpose. Non flash photography is encouraged at all shows unless a particular event or venues photography policy forbids it. All participants in audio recording exchange (regardless of format) acknowledge and respect the copyrights and exclusive ownership of the music and performances by the performers. Regardless of any expenses incurred in duplicating a recording, no money may ever be exchanged as part of a trade (excluding blank and postage type arrangements). We thank the legions of dedicated tapers and traders who help spread grassroots music to the world. We are greatly indebted to your passion!

On 7/14/2005, we received the following email granting permission:

This is Chris Stefanile from the band "The Special Purpose". I give full permision on behalf of my band to allow archiveing of our live shows and studio rocordings for public download and noncommercial, royalty-free circulation. Thank you for your great service!
