ActiveMind Records presents the serious side of DJ earWIG in this 2007 collaboration with Pittsburgh power-artist Jessica M Fenlon, captured here playing solo violin.

Based entirely on recordings of Jessica's violin playing, "The Monitor" represents an excursion into proambient math-scaping that until now has rarely been seen outside of Oklahoma City.

Rather than the usual plea to turn the volume up as loud as possible to ensure proper playback (as is the case with all other DJ earWIG records), this record asks to played softly. Go figure.

Thanks to Jessica Fenlon for letting me monkey with her music. With a few obvious exceptions (field recordings, spy numbers, etc.), all of the sound on this record came from Jessica's solo violin recordings.
