Subject: The "Other" summer camp..
Whenever a film starts by saying these are a 'special kind' of kids, I'm in for the ride. Although it somewhat drags, this film, all about a summer camp for oh-so-educated teens (they have 2 pass two courses in order to get into this camp, and, apparently, be white) in the middle of NOWHERE, this camp features classes in international affairs, government and so on. Joy. Kids do have several hours a day to do as they please, aka basketball, walking, or, for the women, ironing (for the folk dance later on!), this is a pretty ultra-conservative-white-dweeb-clean-and-pressed sort of camp, one which you're somewhat glad doesnt exist anymore (or maybe it does)..

Shotlist

Camp for kids (teens), great film ! Teenagers at camp: flag-raising & pledge, breakfast, doing dishes, sweeping (many brooms), lecture in tent, artificial respiration, boy & girl on hike, soda pop, water fountain, guys doing laundry, basketball, horseshoes, swimming, horseback riding, square dance, making beds, writing home, playing musical instruments, candlelight ceremony, musical comedy number talent night.
