In the second episode, I stopped by Bloor-Yonge Station, the busiest station in the system. While I mentioned in the audio that I had heard a figure of 85,000 people passing through, looking at Wikipedia I can see I was way off. At last count it is estimated that there are well over 360,000 boardings here every day. Definitely a good place for a busker to be. There I found Mike Green, another full time busker playing on the northbound platform.
Mike mentions a few folks he's met "at work". If you are from outside Toronto you probably won't know them:
* David Miller is our current mayor. * Mel Lastman was the last mayor of Toronto. He's probably best known (and ridiculed) outside Toronto for having called in the Canadian Forces (army) to help shovel snow after the blizzard of '99 when Toronto got 118 cm (46 inches) of snow. * Bo Rae is a former Premier (like a governor) of Ontario. He's now a member of Parliament.
