Subject: Great footage

Great time capsule of images from the sixties. I was born in 66 and I miss the sixties and seventies..things seemed so much more beautiful and even the color of the films from those days seem better than the gray look to all of todays films. Nice clip for sure.

Subject: Interesting, but

Interesting, but going at such a speed that you don't see thing pretty clearly-and my eyes were hurting after a while...
Nevertheless, a good message in a bottle from the past.

What a fantastic reel! The flood footage has a stark, desolate quality that is undercut by the men who can't resist mugging for the camera. And the Texas scenes bowled me over: I was a 9-year-old living near Houston when that footage was taken. The Cotton Bowl never looked that good that I remember -- I was there several times in the '90s and '00s -- and to see Dealey Plaza and the Book Depository about 1 yr. after the assassination is staggering, mainly because of how ordinary most things seemed. The floral tributes on the plaza reminded me of similar displays I saw in 2003, the 40th anniversary.
