Well, going at a new angle this year for Christmas, and that angle is about showing you and introducing you guys to an Irish Celtic band, simply known as "Celtic Woman"...i dunno why it's not plural, there's more than 1 of 'em lol. But, nonetheless, these gals certainly do fill the Celtic scene pretty good! I saw this concert earlier tonight, and was in awe!
This CD, and Concert was recorded in October 2006 for PBS. broke a long-standing record when it surpassed the 68 week run of the original Celtic Woman album. The album's main vocalists are the same five women who were first featured on the PBS music special of the same name: Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly, Chloë Agnew and Máiréad Nesbitt. The group's repertoire ranges from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs.
It's pretty standard for Christmas songs, and includes many favourites, including "O Holy Night" (How the show begins), to "The Christmas Song", among others. Thrown in for good measure though are a few irish traditional songs ("Panis Angelicus", "Don Oiche D I Mbeithil (that Night in Bethlehem)") and, they finish with a nice, kind of jazzy routine with "Let it snow" - an altogether very awesome CD and concert!
