Subject: Poor Ham!

Bit of a heartbreaking newsreel story as we follow Ham, chimpanzee extraordinaire, as he is prepared to be the first animal in space. Of course, this being the early 60's, they have to rather uncomfortably harness Ham in to his shell, which locked up the legs, locked the neck in, among other things. that's ok, at least he had banana pellets to keep him satisfied. Soon he's blasted off into space!! Will he survive??

I liked the newsreel feel of this, like you were almost there cheering for the spacemen, and wishing the monkey would break free.

Subject: A Great Newsreel on Early Space History

This is the story of Ham and two other chimps who took some of the early Mercury Redstone rides to pave the way for human space exploration.
