Valve/Membrance is a series of electronic/non-electronic music pieces. Keisuke Oki plays analog/digital Electronic Valve Instruments, tradtional Japanese and Chinese musical instruments. Naoyuki Arashi plays decompression type reed organ and electronic devices. From their sounds, Minoru Sato derives natural resonances of several vessels (glass tubes and so on ) manipulated by self-made electronic device. The music bridges historical and regional difference of technological and musical forms. It focuses on cultural/technological elements from ancient Asia, the industrial revolution and the electronic age.
