"THE TWILIGHT ZONE" had many sponsors over the years..
This is a "sponsor breakdown" (the series had "alternate sponsors" during most of its entire run):
1959-'60
General Foods {Sanka}
Kimberly-Clark {Kleenex}
1960-'61
General Foods {Sanka} [through March '61]
Colgate-Palmolive {Colgate Dental Cream, Veto Deodorant, etc.}
Liggett & Myers {Oasis cigarettes} [from April '61]
1961-'62
Colgate-Palmolive {various} [through January '62]
Liggett & Myers {Chesterfield King}
"participating sponsorship" {various sponsors, including Polaroid, Menley & James' Contac, Mobil Oil, etc., from January '62 through the end of the season}
1963 (hour-long edition)
"participating sponsorship"
1963-'64
American Tobacco {Pall Mall, Montclair}
Procter & Gamble {Crest, Lilt, Prell}
The only endorsement of his sponsor's products that Rod participated in was for Liggett & Myers, at the end of his "next week's story" previews, saying a few words about Oasis in the spring of '61, and Chesterfield King during the 1961-'62 season.

I remember these
I remember some of these bumpers, probably because I used to record the audio of the episodes when they were originally broadcast on my reel-to-reel tape recorder, and listen to them over and over and over....

Spooky Shampoo
Wow! That Twilight Zone bumper music sure made Prell Shampoo sound ominous.
But seriously, these incidental snips from old episodes brings back the atmosphere of watching TV back in the early '60's, when I was a kid. Facinating!

The whole experience
Actually this is one thing that people miss when they get DVD box sets - what the experience was like for viewers at the time of the show - these commercials are time pieces!
Highly recommended!

Great find!
A great reminder of back in the day when sponsorship mattered to TV producers. And dig those announcers' resonant voices! They just don't make 'em like that anymore!
Thanks for the contribution to this marvelous website!

Very enjoyable
This kind of trivia is fascinating and really brings back memories. I had forgotten about many of these products. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
