Notes
This demo is very rough and not necessarily represent the sound of Úden today.

Demo 2005 (Self Released)
This Chilean one-man band plays an interesting musical style; I really don’t know how to classify it… but must be something like Funeral Ambient/Drone/Doom with Black Metal ambiances… Do you get the picture? The music of Uden is pretty Doom-ish, but with some uncommon guitar sound, a little sharpened and high-tuned (sounds more like Black Metal) playing apathetic, monotone, cyclic melodies at slow tempo accompanied by a really slow drumming and droning keyboards that sometimes turns their sound into some kind of Black Ambient (in the vein of latest Burzum works) like the tracks “Interludio”, “Resignacion” or “Confortable” where the solemn, strong but simple melodies recreates magnificent desolated places. Tracks like “Trance” (one of my favourites) are pretty much into the mid-paced Black Metal parameters with an obscure guitar intro that unleashes a storm of heavy, sharpened guitars at background adorned with dark lead guitar lines, good bass work and a adequate drumming with some speedy parts, all this with no voices at all (like the entire demo). This entire work has a good sound, some tracks seem to finalize abruptly, but that’s OK (for a demo). The most remarkable point of this work is the originality; this music is a blend of styles played in some personal, introspective way. Unlike the majority of the Drone/Doom or even Ambient bands, Uden’s compositions are more worked and complex, there’s no place for improvisation here, all songs sounds mature (for a demo… I insist) and coherent. So if you are into Drone, Doom, Ambient or even Black Metal you will be maybe interested in this work that is fortunately entirely available for download at www.udenband.tk (not available link now)
