Video/audio (part video/part audio) interview of Feb. 8, 1991 with Al Hutler, American World War II veteran, book author, and social worker who was one of the military personnel assigned to help concentration camp survivors and refugees at the end of the war get back to the country of their choice, find their former homes or a home, and/or reach their destinations. The interview emphasizes how he helped people and what experiences he encountered during and mainly at the end of World War Two.
The interview, copyrighted 1991 by Anne Hart, (me, the producer) took place at his home in California on February 8th, 1991. The battery of my camcorder ran out during the recording for some of the video segment, but the audio remained on to finish the interview. Therefore, it works better as an audio file. I inserted in the video some of my paintings to fill in the video portion from where only the audio begins, but the full audio interview is there.
A copy of this video also was given to Mr. Hutler to reproduce for his relatives and/or friends, and also a copy was donated to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC in 1991. This video would be suitable also to be put in a time capsule for future generations and/or also used in the present for education in classrooms and/or for archives of life stories of WWII American veterans.
