Highlights:
Both audio and video taping for private use are fine by me. In most cases, you do have to check with the venue beforehand; they may have a different policy. If they say "if the artist is okay with it," tell them I've posted a statement on my website giving the green light. If they don't buy it, have 'em come find me and I'll say "yeah, of course it's okay!"
For now, it's also fine to tape audio off the sound board; if in the future we decide to make a live album or something, that may change.
Limited Policy notes for Vienna on Archive.org:
I'm fine with audio and video taping of my live shows, as well as with free distribution in the spirit of B&P trading. There are a few restrictions that I would like honored, and they are:
1. Songs that may appear on future studio recordings are off-limits, until the studio recording is released. Unrecorded songs that are OK to tape are listed on my website forum:

2. Credit the songwriters of covers. When I perform someone else's song, one of the intents is to turn the audience on to another artist's great music. If people want to hear the original or learn more about the songwriter, please make it easy for them to track down the information.
3. All recordings uploaded to archive.org must be approved either by Michele Santiago (vr5sbloom(AT)aol.com) or me (vienna(AT)viennateng.com) before they're made public. In the vast majority of cases, we'll just check the track list for rules #1 and #2 above and give it the OK.
Other than that, everything should be fair game.
On August 24th, Michele Santiago gave permission for three additional users who may upload without prior approval:
Hi Dave, these are fine, and these three can be added to our approved
uploaders list. Thanks so much!
