Joseph Daniels and Jedidiah MitchellWay of the Mantis (2006)

Here is our thesis animation completed at RIT.
It is the story of an impetuous Chinese monk who finds he has a thing or two to learn from an unlikely source. The animation is rendered in a brushpainted style reminiscient of old Te Wei films. Enjoy!

Subject: Students creates Masterpiece
Excellent work here. Classic tale of the student learning through observation and deduction of the natural world around him, resulting in his evolution into the master's approval. Much like The Way, this cannot be described, only experienced.

I think the figure/ground movement is nice; makes it seem more real. The music is also very good. Great work!
