Cambrian House owned a Wii for less than 24 hours before the control slipped out of Rob's hand, and hit the wall. Wall was ok, remote was ok... Rob was ok. The safety strap snapped, which Nintendo has since addressed by shipping thicker replacement straps.
We've had multiple requests from TV channels to air this footage, so to make this process easier we're posting in a format that is easier to recycle (than YouTube), and some of the raw footage (MPEG-1) shot with a Sony digital camera.
It is a bit confusing to pick out the original clips from all the automatic derivations IA creates, so I'm listing them here...
Cambrian House edited video: Windows Media, MPEG-2.
MPEG-1 Raw Footage: One, Two.
...to get those files on your hard drive, right click and "Save As". You probably won't have any luck opening them in your web browser.
While this footage is being released under Creative Commons license, under which any TV station looking to recycle this footage could do PROVIDING their show is also released under the same Creative Commons license. Not planning on doing that? Not possible to do so when working for a large news organization? And ideally posting your newscast footage to Internet Archive?
Then please make sure "The Cambrian House" and our URL (CambrianHouse.com) is shown on the screen whenever you are displaying our footage. This applies to anyone recycling this footage who can't release their end product under CC.
For non-CC use, make sure we have on-screen credit while our footage is being displayed. As opposed to simply attributing the video to us in the end credits (as would be sufficient if you were releasing your derived video under CC license).
And please comment here with details on what your show is (whether you are using it in a CC manner or not), as we love to know if/when Cambrian House stock footage is being recycled.
Thanks, -Gord (Cambrian House video guy)
