Subject: I'm all right Jack!
Interesting oddity about a labor unrest story puportedly using real plant workers instead of actors. By doing this, the film instantly makes itself more real feeling.
There's trouble at the lead pencil(!!) factory where people are mighty antsy about working conditions, job security and wages. In an instant (or so it seems) they form a union, and meet with management to discuss their differences. It's quite interesting how this is filmed. The workers are shown grubby with plain shoes smoking cigarettes, while management are shown of course, with ties, sparkling shoes and chewing cigars. Quite fascinating to see what kind of problems go on in a pencil factory (no mention of lead poisoning) and the acting here is surprisingly good. Bonus point for the boss figure who looked like my boss I had a few years ago.. except he had an australian accent.
