Diesel Engine Episode
Apparently, diesel engines were real important in the 1950s. Not sure how much of that importance they've retained today, but in 1954 they rated an entire episode. And I didn't know that. Which means I learned something from this program. :)

...I'm I safe here?
My favorite part is when the kid said, "... am I safe here?", and Mr. Wizard said, "...hmmm...I think so". LOL

It's a wonder any of us lived to grow up!
Hah! I loved this program. I loved watching it when I was a kid and I loved seeing it again now. But now it gives me chills to see Mr. Wizard - AND THE KID - working in close proximity to fairly dangerous things like fire with no safety glasses or anything! Mr. Wizard gives the kid a can full of explosive gasoline/air mixture to HOLD while he ignites it! (I wonder what his insurance rates would be today?) 'Course we played around with all sorts of stuff in our chemistry sets in the fifties and sixties that are verboten now. Most of us managed to survive unscathed. Everything is so watered down now, it's a wonder kids learn anything any more... But I guess more of them do keep their eyesight!

wow Mr.wizard!
I don't remember this particular episode but I did watch Mr. Wizard on Saturday mornings. It was a tossup between this or Ruff 'n' Ready. Thanks Seto Kaiba.
