Z I L M R A H is the moniker artist Lawry Romani uses for this project to explore sound through the instruments he builds. He creates a sound based in a noise driven psychedelic whirlwind where the pieces of music build through texture and layers of sonic dissonance, tapering drones, and off kilter loop generations, very often fusing noise with free jazz elements. His instruments are sound sculptures, which are either percussive or electro-acoustic stringed devices. The project also serves as a means for collaboration, with a revolving door of guest musicians either improvising or working on recorded pieces of music.
