Subject: This is Abridged on Purpose by Charles Dickens
This is a version that Charles Dickens would use when performing public readings of A Christmas Carol. He shortened it on purpose for the readings. It is not meant to take the place of the original text on your library shelf, or to read to each other by the fire Christmas eve - so bear that in mind.

Subject: very abridged
This is a very abridged version of the text. It leaves out an extreme amount of great writing. As someone who reads this book every Christmas, I have to recommend against this text.

While it is illustrated, the illustrations are not very good, and do not add anywhere near enough to the book to make up for the loss of text.

Please read unabridged versions only.
