Subject: one of the best parties i've been to
but not 5 star alo. i'd give it an honest 4 but i know this will get a load of 5 stars and want to preemptively even out the score.
the playing was superb, the event was off-the-charts, and the recording captures little of it. it was a hard room to record in and the evening didn't make reality any easier to deal with, so i ain't bagging, joe.
if you've already got the great boards from 2005, then this is a logical next step, but if you're still fresh to the alo archive, head over to soho feb 2005, nye at the mountain house 2005, and most anything recorded by charlie crompton.
pete- did you get rid of the spikes and punches found throughout the recording? i'm giving it a listen and instead of the previous sound i'm getting more of a short cut... can you explain? good work fixing this up, pete!

Subject: A Note From Falcor
On May 28th, 2005 I called on 200 friends to help me get through a
rough patch in my life. I lined up a vatacted house sitting on 80
acres overlooking the Russian River in Guerneville. The idea was to
lay to rest any negativity in our lives and focus on an emotional
rebirth..."A ceLObration of new beginnings"...everyone on the property
that weekend contributed in a monumental way. My memory always
envisions the event vibrating with positive energy. Many have said
that this was the night that ALO "went there". I can still very vivdly
remember Lebo telling me that he went into a whole new space and time
with his solos...most noticebaly in Time is of the Essence. The night
kicked off with "Walls of Jericho" a tune that I had specifically
requested kick things off. It seemed fitting "My time's coming, but
its not tonight" There is a little bit for everyone in these
recordings..and the energy is still there...all the way up to the
"rebirth"
My life has never been the same since May 28th, 2005....and it has
been a very humbling to have people who were there still stop me and
tell me how that night also changed their lives. ALO is more then just
a band to me; they are my family, my friends and they provide the
soundtrack to my life.
