Subject: An excellent recording of an excellent band performing an excellent set of music.
This particular MD/D.C. boy wussed out of the drive to Chapel Hill at the last minute, but fortunately J.T. was there to do the band and us fans justice! A great recording - maybe a bit flat, but considering the layout of the 506, it's completely understandable, and it's much better than my recordings in the Ottobar. The vocals are a lot more audible here than in the previous three nights' shows - probably a combination of the 506's setup and the higher/better mics.
BTW, setlist updates:
Track 4: "Mystery Slot" - two of the shows I saw had Eleking the Clay > some sort of jam in this location, Baltimore had something completely different (and completely beautiful). Tonight, it sounds like they start off in a free-form jam, and go into a song which I can't quite place, but is definitely a cover (it's probably the same song they did in Baltimore that sounded like a Snakefinger song) at 7:07, then end up in Psycho Killer by 8:49. The entire bit from 7:07 on could be considered Psycho Killer, I guess, though it sounds much more like Ralph Records than CBGB.
Track 6: Cosmic Soul Death Disco >
Track 7: Pink Lady Lemonade >
Track 8: The End >
"The End" as performed during this tour isn't a strict cover per se - more like "Jam in the key of The End". But Tsuyama is definitely aping Jim Morrison, and the "lyrics" loosely pattern the (in)famous Oedipal portion of The End. Throw in some Robby Kriegeresque guitar, and bam: The Acid Enders Temple!
Anyway, great recording of an awesome show, I'm so glad someone was there to tape! I heard rumors that the Atlanta show was also recorded, too - amazing taper turnout!

Subject: Setllist Update
Thanx J. T. Nice recording, great thick reading of Dark Stars. I put the disc break after track 4 leaving the Pink Lady Suite intact on disc 2. This is the best I can do for the setlist.
Track 2: Are we Experimental?
Track 3: Dark Stars in the Dazzling Sky
Track 5: Pink Lady Lemonade>
Track 6: ???>
Track 7: Pink Lady Lemonade>
Track 8: ???>
Track 9: Speed Guru
This is the final AMT Collective show to date. What a fine job all the AMT tapers have done. Almost everything here sounds great and is in flac. True music heads for sure. Peace
