Subject: excellent
Anya is wonderful! Her music is girlish, funny, clever, original and catchy. If I were to read such a description, I typically wouldn't interest myself given that I seldom listen to female singer & song writers. While solo acoustic, this is not lesbian folk music. I first heard Anya and fell in love with her music listening to Garrison Keillor's NPR show "A Prairie Home Companion." I recommend her disc "Exercises in Racketeering."
In terms of this Twigg's Green Room show, it's great. While the 8-31-01 set at Java Joe's is better (it sounds like an official release), it only has three songs while this Twigg's Green Room show has a full set list and excellent sound quality. Both shows will fit on one disc. Give something new a try -I predict that you will be pleasantly surprised!

Subject: Witty, feminine
If you like a smart woman with a guitar, give a listen. Anya's voice is girlish and feminine, but her lyrics are all grown up. Great observations on life, self and that seemingly strange planet of SoCal.
Setting is intimate, nice recording too (clean, although some thin-ness- could be from MD, or maybe just my PC speakers I'm using.)
