Subject: great show it was
i was there (& what a beautiful place the Belgie arts center is!) w/ my girlfriend & the show was, indeed, marvelous... very, very touching in a certain sense, as silver mt. zion's records also are. definitely one of the best shows of '07 i've been to - THANKS (x1,000) to prof. stoned for uploading this, i nearlh sh*t my pants when i realized that i could download it & listen to it all over again (& in great quality too! i never managed to produce such a good bootleg unless w/ acoustic shows)!!!

Subject: beautiful show!
i only wish i were there to see it happen! prof. stoned, you rock the town!
these new songs sound great, and with this recording, you can hear all the instruments equally and clearly. definitely download this if you want to hear what the Zion is up to these days...
Line up:
Efrim: Guitar, Vocals
Sophie: Violin, Vocals
Beckie: Cello, Vocals
Jessica: Violin, Vocals
Ian: Guitar, Vocals
Thierry: Upright Bass, Vocals
Eric: Drums
Taped & Mastered: Prof. Stoned
Mic position:
The mic was taped against the wall right behind the mixing desk, 2,2 meter high.
About approx. 10 meters from the stage.
Because the mic was not exactly in the center of the P.A., I pointed it
slightly to the left.
A big thanks once again to Radwan for making this recording possible.
Notes:
Although this show was actually programmed on the fifth of May,
the band only started playing after midnight and so May 6 is the correct date.
An intense and explosive performance, probably the best I ever saw them do.
The two new songs have really come together by now.
The venue was great as well. A small intimate place with a balcony all around
the hall, giving the people the opportunity to watch the band from every angle.
The band itself seemed to enjoy themselves very much so too.
A great way to end this tour.
The sound quality is as good or better than the Brussels show in April.
No cuts, mic obstruction, data compression or any other shortcomings
here that occure on many audience recordings.
I mastered the recording with Multiband compression, EQ and Limiter
VST plugins (see http://www.uaudio.com/products/uad-plug-ins.html)
which made the recording sound more 'alive'.
I hate it when a recording sounds processed and unnatural,
and so I always attempt to use these tools tastefully and only if required.
