Too bad the recording has suffered so badly. And I agree the castanets are gratuitous.

Incidentally, the spelling is usually "Ballin' the Jack," a dance song with pretty pointless steps (balling = dancing to the point of exhaustion, jack = the male partner), but the song was popular for decades.

Subject: Oh no! Castanets again!

Fairly repetitive song which features much trumpets, fanfare, and yes, castanets. You know, at the beginning when I was listening to these recordings, Castanets were sort of a fun addition. Now they're getting to be annoying lol
