Recorded in 2004, Illusion of Art's first album "Phylum" was originally self-released on CD-R in 25 copies. This recording is very rough. It was recorded with terrible equipment by plugging a four track into the back of the computer as a mixer and recorded completely with freeware. The vocals are sung in an asthmatic wheeze over distorted guitars, harpsichords, kotos, home organ percussion, Nintendos, hip-hop beats, and Mellotrons among others.
