Subject: not that impressed on first listen
A little story about my Billy Bragg exposure for the first time tonight here.. I randomly grabbed this show to hear Billy's version of his own song. I didn't listen to the rest of the show, but short answer: I wasn't impressed. The crowd for the most part is 'far away' from the taper (good thing) during the song, even during the 'sing along' portion. but there is a bloke near the taper that talks out loud sometimes / yells out loud drunkingly. There is some heavy overloading of the mics / distortion. The recording is very empty / boomy. and the guitar is too loud. And Billy's singing voice is ... not 'horrible' .. but suprisingly not good. I actually MUCH prefer Isaac's version of the song to the original singer. maybe it's because he's an 1980's hit singer and the recording was from 2004, in a probably 'washed up' period of his career after a 'comeback'. I don't mean to be harsh, but this is just the thinking of hearing this song I love done by the original artist and being vastly dissapointed. I love Isaac's version much better!

Subject: Not a Favorite
This, to me, is not a "nice quality recording". Perhaps I'm used to soundboard recordings, but I would say 2005's Glastonbury is a better bet.
