More for history buffs than film fans
This is one unusual film. I can't say its a good film, but from a historical standpoint there is much to mine here. Is Lionel Atwill a stand in for FDR? Seems that way, after he loses the use of his legs. The beggers are organized into a "homeless army", a play on the Bonus Army I'm sure. The most interesting scenes involve Atwill partnered with a blind man ( ONE HAS NO LEGS, ONE NO SIGHT TOGETHER THEY BATTLE THE BOSSES!). LOL.
Then the beggers use insider trading and manipulated stocks to punish the bad capitalist.
If you are interested in the depression era this film will interest you. Otherwise, click on my name for reviews I've written on other films that you might enjoy!
