Interesting trailer here for a rerelease of Birth Of A Nation. First of all, I wanna say that D.W. Griffith is TOTALLY getting burned as far as recognition, as much as Birth Of A Nation is racist, he still is a powerful filmmaker.. Ok, back to topic, this is a curious trailer stating that this release is "the way that D.W. Griffith as he conceived and created it"... With lousy sound effects?? The single lady's cry after Lincoln gets shot then the clumsy music then stumbling in sure makes me want to see this! Mmm Hmm!! And what's this about it beeing seen by any other film produced?? Well, I'd love them to prove that, but I could see how they claim it.

Reissue trailer (c. 1964? based on the typeface) for D.W. Griffith's classic and important film "Birth Of A Nation". The trailer adds sound effects (gun fire, gasps) and music to the film, though it is not clear if the film was screened this way. What is interesting is the most controversial aspect of this film, the glorification of the KKK, is only shown briefly, with the focus of the trailer being the massive Civil War re-enactments and the lush recreation of the Lincoln assissination. Overall, a good feel for this landmark film.
