Subject: Modern Bookkeeping
This is a very good video, I love it and just have a look at his sales for the month something like 40k he was making a killing.
Today’s bookkeeper is very different from those of the past. Bookkeepers, also known as Accounting Technicians, carry out the majority of the financial processes and reporting for the business including the GST related information. One of the main purposes for bookkeeping is cash flow management. Making sure you are on top of your accounts helps you ensure you have the necessary cash flow to support the day to day activities of the business.

Subject: High School book keeping
Dry as dust short film that deals with a high school bookkeeping class. Emphasis seems to be on getting the kids to take over the family business (grocery store, farm). Interesting to see what high school kids were wearing in 1947, and the low-tech office equipment. Early appearance by Dick York as the farmer's son.

Although this features apparently some of the many characters from Shy Guy (although, to be honest, I only recognized my man, Dick York), it doesn¡¯t hold much of it¡¯s charms. This is pretty much a straight (excuse the pun) by the books affair that explains why everyone needs a bit of book-keeping in them. Although this is called accounting today, and nearly all of it is automated, this is interesting if you¡¯ve got a bit of math in you and want to see how they did it in the old days. Or maybe you want to see Dick York as a Farmer¡¯s boy (in suspenders!) Whatever.

Subject: And You...and You...and You!
Subject: And You...and You...and You!
This early Coronet film goes through a high school bookkeeping class and gives the reasons why all the students are taking it. This mostly involves students needing to know how to keep the books in various family businesses, meaning that their parents probably made them take the class. We get to see the parents of these students use bookkeeping in various Mom and Pop businesses, a girl who is learning bookkeeping because she wants to become a stenographer and perhaps get promoted to secretary in an office full of male accountants, and the rich kid being forced to take the class so he wonÃÂt squander the family fortune, while his Mom checks up on the accuracy of the figures reported by the treasurer of her womenÃÂs club. Dick York is wasted in a cameo role, though it is a hoot to see him attempt to be a farmer. And the kid who wants to be a politician is realistically obnoxiousÃÂÃÂhe probably went far in his chosen career. This is not one of CoronetÃÂs best, but because it is by Coronet, itÃÂs a lot more fun than it could have been given its subject matter.

Subject: With a name like "Bookkeeping," it has to be boring
This has got to be the most boring educational film I've seen yet- the only reason I downloaded it is because of the presence of the late, great Dick York. Here he appears (VERY briefly) as a farmer's son. He doesn't even have any lines. Makes you wish they used him more to make it somewhat interesting- seems he's developed some biceps since "Combat Fatigue: Insomnia." :p But how much fun can a film be with a name like "Bookkeeping and You"? Still, at least the beginning has some corny goodness:
BOY 1: "150- that's a lot of different kinds of jobs!"
GIRL 1: "850,000- that's a lot of people!"
GIRL 2: "AND a lot of jobs!"
I can't help wondering if one of the girls is Joan "Joey" Alt, Dick York's future wife. They look sort of similar.
The main point this film drives home is that bookkeeping is VERY important, whether you plan to become a farmer, beautician, senator, governor, secretary... name a job, and it's mentioned. Over and over and over...
I love the old cash registers. Makes me want to take over my father's job at the ol' store too.
