If all the other Bowery Boys movies got 4 stars let's up this one. They are all pretty much the same. Well, not really, this one is a little more lame, but they are all a little lame. So, let's up it. I give it 5 stars.

Subject: So Bad It's Mediocre

I grew up a big fan of the Bowery Boys, those are the shorter 60 minute or so movies that heavily feature Huntz Hall (Satch) and they were funny (?). The East Side Kids are pre Bowery Boys days and it's pretty boring stuff, glad I saw it hear though so it spared me my indian nickels that I'd pay to buy it. 2 stars for Bowery Boys fans to see the movie Huntz Hall got some billing (Introducing).

Subject: Blitzkrieg?

Over all a good movie about the Bowery boy's Aka The East side kids. typical Drama about the hard knocks of life durring the late 1930's- 1940's on the East side (New York)
The title of the movie leaves one a bit confused. Blitskrieg? the name of the movie would lead one to belive that in some form or fashion that there is some tie to Nazi's or german spy's durring the WWII era. Wrong!!!!
The movie could not be further removed from the Word Blitzkrieg. A better name for the movie would be "The Boxing Bowery"
It's a typical movie about Boxing , Crime and corruption. The main struggle is about Mugs McGinnis (Leo Gorcey) And how the Mob, if could even be called that back then, tries to make mugs throw a fight for $1,000.
I would rate this movie as one of the better one's about the East side kid's. But, not an acurate portrail of the times, just good entertainment and an escape from life durring the depression.
